Meet Our Team

Tavarus Wheat
Director of Operation

Tavarus grew up in the Chicago,IL before heading South for college. He studied communications and public relations at The University of North Alabama. His journey started with an entry-level position in Dec. 2018 with Alabama Marketing Solutions. After excelling in the position for several months an opportunity to relocate to Lexington,Ky was offered. Tavarus is now responsible for directing the operations for Bluegrass Marketing Events Inc. He helps manage, lead and developing others as the director. He excels at entrepreneurship, motivational speaking, and teaching students to be better business individuals. Some of his hobbies include mentoring, playing basketball, cooking, and traveling.

Erika Dix
Talent Acquisition Specialist

Erika is originally from Birmingham, AL where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in criminal law. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Erika specializes in sourcing, identifying and hiring specific types of employees for Bluegrass Marketing Events, Inc. She helps with branding and social media marketing with the company as well. Erika enjoys working with children in different charitable organizations. Her hobbies include all things sports related, traveling, trying different things, art, and outdoor activities.

Courtney Brock
Level 1 Consultant

Courtney is a Level 1 Consultant with our company. She is from Hazard, KY and an aspiring business owner. She majored in Chemistry and Biology at Hazard Community Technical College. Her responsibilities include representing Bluegrass Marketing Events in a positive light, increasing sales and being a fantastic trainer. She enjoys cooking, spending time with family and helping others.

Portia Green
Level 1 Consultant

Portia was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky where she obtained her Bachelors degree at the University of Kentucky in Human Nutrition and Psychology. Portia is an aspiring momtrepreneur that leads with compassion and gratitude. Her role as a Level 1 Consultant allows her to training client specialist's grow within the company. Portia loves to help and heal others into living their best desired lives. Her hobbies are dancing, cooking, learning as well as expanding her consciousness. She will one day pursue her dreams in running her own business called MONAE where she will help and heal others into “Manifesting Opportunities through the Natural Abundance of Energy”.

Alex Miller
Level 1 Consultant

Alex started his journey in Cincinnati, Ohio where he was born and raised. He moved to Lexington Kentucky to study Economics at the University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelors degree with a Minor in Philosophy. He hopes to one day own his own business. Alex specializes in customer relations, sales, as well as training others to the best of their abilities. His hobbies include cooking, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and two dogs.

Q. I have experience, do I still have to start entry-level?

Yes, we believe that strong leaders lead from the front. Having served in every position within our management training program, our managers show their people a willingness to get their hands dirty and do the work alongside their team, not just coach from the sidelines.

Q. How can I advance?

This depends on you! What’s so amazing about our company is that, once you begin in the entry level marketing and sales position, you have control over your own advancement. It can take anywhere from 4-6 months to earn a position as a market manager/managing partner. This means that you are able to achieve promotions and increased income in a fraction of the time it would take you at companies where growth is limited by corporate budgets and the bureaucracy of seniority.

Q. Is this a commission only position?

Absolutely not, we compensate our employees with a weekly base pay plus uncapped commissions and additional bonus incentives.

Q. Is training provided?

Yes, our management team has a full training program setup for Client Specialist. Information covered in training includes: service and product knowledge, sales and marketing techniques, public speaking, leadership and management.
